James declares for all to hear in chapter one of his epistle that "religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world." One of the most joyful and rewarding ways that we as a church have found to pursue this kind of faith is in ministry to those that have often been forgotten and cast aside.
Each week we are privileged to lead worship for a local nursing home, the Kindred at Ridgmar. We have been ministering to these precious souls each Lord's Day for the past several years. Every Sunday at 3:30 PM we lead a worship service for them for about an hour in which we minister to them the gospel of our Lord Jesus. It is the word of God that is central to our worship where we read the word, sing the word and display the glory of Christ in the word through preaching.
